At Chasing the Stigma, we know that conversations change lives.

Every day, through our work and the Hub of Hope, we see the difference that understanding, compassion and connection can make when someone is struggling with their mental health.

That is exactly why we created Ambassador of Hope. Our training is designed to help people feel more confident having conversations about mental health, better understand how to support others, and know where to signpost people to appropriate help and support.

As our impact continues to grow across the UK, we are looking to expand our

brilliant network of Associate Trainers to help us deliver our vital mental

health awareness sessions. If you are passionate about mental health

education and want to use your skills to make a real-world difference, this is

your opportunity to join us

The Power of Lived Experience

What makes Chasing the Stigma’s training so impactful is our focus on real, human connection. We are particularly eager to welcome trainers who bring

lived experience of mental health challenges. Sharing space with people who

understand the nuances of these challenges firsthand creates an unparalleled

environment of empathy and trust, reinforcing clear pathways to support

through the Hub of Hope.

"I’m motivated by the belief that small conversations can make a big difference. Helping people feel more confident, informed, and compassionate around mental health is what drives my work. Prevention is better than intervention and that’s what mental health awareness training can do." Tom Magee, Associate Trainer at Chasing the Stigma

What Does the Role Involve?

Our Associate Trainers support the delivery of two core programmes on an occasional, as-needed basis:

Ambassador of Hope A focused mental health awareness session lasting up to 60 minutes, delivered online or onsite.

Ambassador of Hope Plus A more in-depth mental health awareness session lasting up to three hours, delivered onsite. Sessions are delivered online or in person by agreement and take place on a self-employed, session-by-session basis, giving you the flexibility to manage your own schedule. There is no obligation to offer or accept work, making this a highly adaptable arrangement.

When delivering, you will use materials provided by Chasing the Stigma to facilitate respectful discussions, liaise professionally with client organisations, and uphold the core safeguarding principles.

Who Might This Suit?

We’re looking for people who feel confident engaging with others and who care deeply about making a difference. You may already have experience delivering training, facilitating workshops or speaking to groups, or you may bring valuable lived or professional experience and a passion for helping others.

This opportunity may be right for you if you:

  • Feel passionate about mental health and reducing stigma

  • Want to make a genuine difference in communities and workplaces

  • Are looking for flexible, paid opportunities alongside existing work or commitments

  • Would be proud to represent Chasing the Stigma and our mission

Our trainers are paid per session delivered and supported as part of our wider team and community.
